"While driving to a downtown resturant with my
girlfriend, I used the tollway. Since I was
driving & had no change on me, I had asked
her for the money to pay the toll, she didnt
have the exact amount & told me so. I
calmly explained that it was okay to to throw
in extra money in the manual lane (as I had
already been in that lane) & reached out
& took both the quarters she held in her
hand. After doing so, I said, did you know that
when you throw in extra money the green thank
you sign turns a brighter shade of green
indicating that they are really happy you gave
extra money, she said no way, I had no idea, I
said watch, I threw in the money & we
waited for the thank you sign, she said Oh my
God your right it is greener. She just couldnt
get over, that all of the tolls we paid there
and back, turner greener when we threw in extra
money .She ended up telling others afterwards.
I never had the heart to tell her it was the
same shade as always, she was just a little bit
poorer!!"
